In a strange dying world where rain is a rarity, a girl called Amelia seeks the destruction of the strange time- distorting tree she planted at her mother's urging. But how do you destroy the monster when she's found purchase in your soul?

She planted because planting is what the women in her family do, their secret source of power. Now, something cosmic, ancient, hungry is awakening. The mangled bodies of the men she brings her tree are no longer enough. Sometimes, only a god will do.
